Description makism 2012-09-02 15:14:32 UTC
I usually open Dolphin occupying half the screen (using the KWin feature) and i always have "Places" docked which occupies 1/4 of the "dolphin window".

1. Navigate to directory A
2. While in directory A; Open in a tab directory B which has a really long basename. Tab's title is truncated and ellipses are added in between. This tab still occupies most of the space, sending tab A in the corner (if lucky).
3. Go to tab B; the basename is expanded and if the title is very long it goes beyond the tab-holder; tab A is gone from visibility.

Anyways, i think it would be nicer (and a lot more useful) to make tabs' width proportional to the current view's width and if there are many (define many) tabs then the left-right arrows could become visible.
If such scenario were to followed, there would be a necessity to make the complete basename visible maybe on a tooltip; or the tab's titlename could be expanded on mouseover and collapsed on mouseleave events.

Reproducible: Always
