It would be nice to have the ability (like in  Kopete) to set the resource priority for an XMPP account (default and away priority).

You can edit the priority.
From the accounts module -> edit account -> advanced.

Yes that's right. My report was not clear enough I think. My point was that Kopete can set different priorities for online and away status.
