Description Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) 2012-08-26 19:08:46 UTC
Trying to reproduce a different bug[1], I found out the auto-away feature is not working for me now. After the specified time has passes since my last activity (mouse or keyboard), the Contant List and the presence icon in the system tray still display the same “Available” status.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Contact List, and go to “Tools → Instant Messaging Settings…”.
2. From the “General” tab, enable Auto-away after a minute (the shorted time possible), and click OK.
3. With the Contact List in sight, wait a minute.
Actual Results:
The status does not change at all.

Expected Results:
In the Contact List, the presence icon should change to the one for “away”.

Please try with latest 0.5 or master.
Comment 2 Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) 2012-08-27 20:58:25 UTC
I can confirm the fix in 0.5. Please, close this issue.

By the way, should I report that it does not get back to “Available” when I resume my activity, or is that the expected behavior?
Comment 4 Martin Klapetek 2012-08-27 21:07:54 UTC
No, that's not expected. Is it from Away or from Not available that it does not return? Also, it returns to whatever presence was there before, so make sure you weren't away before.
Comment 5 Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) 2012-08-27 21:17:44 UTC
Ok, it was a one-time thing, I cannot reproduce it (I tried from Available, with and without a custom message, and it gets back fine), and I do not see the point in opening a report for an issue I cannot reprudoce.

Thanks for the quick response, by the way. You are doing a great job with KDE Telepathy.
