Description Vojtech Juranek 2012-08-14 10:37:03 UTC
KMail is not able to delete emails. When I try to delete a mail, focus moves to next email without reporting any error, but mail to be deleted is kept in the original folder.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on an email
2. Press Del (or "Move to trash")

Actual Results:
Email is kept in original folder

Expected Results:
Email is deleted (moved to Trash folder)

look at your identity and verify that trash folder is valid.

No completely sure what you mean by checking validity of trash folder under the identity - I don't see any such option there (there are only Sent-mail, draft and template folder options). Trash option can be found under given account [1]. This option is setup to a valid Trash folder (default Trash folder, has attribute SpecialCollectionAttribute=trash). I experimented little bit and it seems the issue is related rather to a Akonadi resource - I can delete mails from default Local Folders resource, but cannot delete mails from other resources like IMAP accounts. When I try to move an email from these resources to Trash (not "Move to Trash"/del but "Move message to ..." and selecting Trash folder), I'm getting following error: Unknown error. (No items found)

Ops, it started to work right now. Not completely sure what caused it, maybe Akonadi was blocking these resources for some reason. Anyway, closing (will reopen if it happens again and will do more checks) and sorry for the rush :-(
