Can you still reproduce this? I have never seen this behavior. Maybe you can provide a screenshot? Created attachment 77633 [details]

Broken layout
Sure, it is in master. See the screenshots with the correct (after I remove the combo from the toolbar and add back) and broken (after restart) state. Uh ok, I didn't even know we had this combo box... :) yes I can reproduce, I fear it's a bug in KSelectAction, I'll see what I can find... Aleix, if it turns out to be a kdelibs bug, please reassign. According to the documentation, it should pick the correct minimum size automatically. I am not sure, however, if you add the items delayed, so that it cannot determine the size beforehand. Yes, it's probably that it doesn't re-adapt. I'm unsure what would be the best fix for that. I'll move it to kdelibs. I think button with drop down menu like button "Go back in context history" will be fine. Has there been some progress in this case? I know the bug is very old, but it still is an issue in KDevelop 5.6.1. The first thing I do whenever I launch KDevelop is to add/remove something from the toolbar, so that the Combo-Box gets the right size, which is a bit annoying. Hi, kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years. KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have resolved this bug. If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue. We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.
