When k3b starts up, there's a menu with filenames in it. This menu is EXTREMELY narrow and requires some fooling around to make the names it contains useful. Bug reported at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=829035 suggests that there are other KDE  applications with this same  problem
