Description Vincent Lachenal 2012-07-24 10:11:03 UTC
Okular can display TIFF multi-pages images.
The current viewer in KPartPlugins does not manage TIFF pages but the first. And it does not respect images dimensions.
On clicking on "Open in Program ...", it opens Okular.
Okular should be used as KPart to visualize TIFF images.

Reproducible: Always

what's KPartPlugins ?
Comment 2 Vincent Lachenal 2012-07-26 10:59:50 UTC
If my mind, it's the Netscape-compatible plugin to use The Kparts (the modules to open several file formats).
For example, on Opera and Firefox, if you open a PDF file Okular will be used and if you open an OpenDocument file Calligra will be used.

And for TIFF files, I don't know what KDE software is used but it is the same result than Okular (no left panel to display pages, ...).

A TIFF image in Opera browser:

The same image on clicking on "Open in Program ...":

Well, then you need to create a bug against the KPartPlugins developers, not against Okular, it's not our fault they decide to choose a different application for autovisualization.

That was my first intent but I didn't find the product in list. So I deduced (seemingly wrong) that each product register itself to the KPart(Plugins) (with the managed MIME types).

Do you know to what product I have to affect this 'bug' (enhancement is a better word for this request) ?

We do declare our support for tiff files.

Unfortunately no, i don't know where to file bugs for such a product, sorry :-/
