> kdmgreet: Fatal IO error: client killed
Doesn't look like a kdm bug, but kdm maintainers know better.
please state the kde version you are using. the error messages about d-bus failures do not seem to be causally related to the abnormal termination of kdmgreet (i have them, too). as the message at the top of kdm.log says, you need to look into syslog to find any actually relevant messages. the kdm README contains more information how to obtain more useful logs (you may need -debug 15, but that's speculative at this point). I have the same "No DBUS session-bus found"-message in kdm.log. But only at the second login. KDM loads until the hd-icon is visible. In /var/log/messages: kernel: [ 3183.351659] colord-sane[14934]: segfault at 4 ip b5637472 sp b560afb8 error 6 in libdbus-1.so.3.7.2[b560c000+49000] KDE 4.8 KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.
