Description slawek 2012-07-13 08:27:20 UTC
After adding Transparency mask I couldn't do anything to make it work. I had a black color chosen, Brush, color - everything looks ok, but it wasnt doing anything. Finally I pushed "E" and worked as it should...
Then when I played around with mask a little I noticed that it also have problems detecting what color is currently used. Sometimes when I get it to work I change color to white but it is still treating it as it was black. Again - pushing "E" helps - sometimes one time, sometimes twice.. I dont see a pattern here but somethings isnt right with it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.add transparency mask to a layer
2.choose black color to mask
3.try to paint mask
Actual Results:
nothing is happening

Expected Results:
mask should hide painted part of a layer

Hi!

On krita's masks, currently, you have to painting using transparency, i.e., erase and paint, not grayscale as in other apps. We know that this is a problem and want to fix it, but it's (technically) much harder than it might seem. We track this issue in bug 217292.
