- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I just started KMail and entered valid passwords for two IMAP mailboxes, one of them is from gmail. 
KMail has previously worked well here, so apparently the contents of the mailbox does matter, I have used the web interface to move some messages while KMail was not running.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
