1.Open it in KDE
2. Try to use... that's all

It isn't working for me either in Kubuntu 12.04. It starts OK, but then you just can't do anything in it.

I've just tested KJots 5.0.2 in Kubuntu 18.04 and it appears to be working OK now. I managed to create a new KJots book and a couple of pages, it seems to be saving them automatically and I can reopen them subsequently after closing KJots and restarting it.

I'd say the bug has been fixed. Thanks!
