Description Seb gps-camera.eu 2012-07-05 14:13:10 UTC
The combination of GPS information and compass heading in the EXIF of pictures is quite mighty. Here An idea what can be done with this information:

With latitude, date and time + image direction it is possible to compute the light mood that is to be expected on the photos.

EXAMPLE:
You need a picture of a car with warm evening light from the left to photoshop this into an other picture.

So you click on an icon: "Sunset +-30min and light from left"

A proof of concept has been done by students!

Find a detailed explanation with screen-shot here: http://www.gps-camera.eu/images/stories/FHKempten/Geotagging_Sonnenstandsfilter_Einstellungsseiteseite.png

(German, use Google translate in the top right))

Contact me if you need test pictures with GPS + heading information!
