Sometimes I got 2 program icons at same position on panel. The problem disappears after starting a new application (but sometimes is there again after closing that app). Because of this, it is difficult for me to make a snapshot from the situation.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I've no idea what tiggers this misbehaviour.
Actual Results:  
2 program icons at the same position on panel

Expected Results:  
All running programs should get an non-overlapping position on the panel.

Still there in kubuntu-backports of KDE 4.9 [https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports] for Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) amd64 version 4:4.9.1

Suppose you are actually referring to the taskbar when saying "panel"
