Description julien.t43+kde 2012-07-02 21:13:26 UTC
It sems for now, versioning is only for image edition. The next step, AFAIC, is for metadata edit.

It would provide a nice history of meta changes and an easy way to undo things (Bugs 142753, 298160)

Reproducible: Always

Not than I'm aware of, but I didn't really check and it's aways possible to innovate :-)

A quick google gave me two results which can be interesting
* about iptc spec & versioning metadata
http://www.iptc.org/site/Photo_Metadata/Overview/
* versioning of meta in Ms sharepoint (not really photo management but ...)

I use git to store my xmp sidecar files which gives me metadata history with undo functionality.
