Description Mario Ray Mahardhika 2012-06-30 15:37:13 UTC
I use Folder View as my desktop layout showing my home desktop folder. I have +40 items there and I forgot since I have how many items, whenever I restart I got the desktop like rotated somehow. It's easily solved by setting the layout to another one then back to Folder View but of course it's annoying.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set Folder View as desktop layout
2. Use home desktop folder (or perhaps any folder would do) to show
3. Put a lot (+40) of files there
4. Restart computer
Actual Results:
In the next logon, the desktop still shows all files from the desktop folder, as in previous logon

Expected Results:
In the next logon, the desktop shows nothing and in the right side of the screen there's a scrollbar

If I logout with the desktop still rotated, in the next logon I get my correct view back. So it's like toggling on each logon.

Sorry, seems like Actual & Expected result above are switched. I've also found that I don't have to restart the computer, simply logging off then on again shows this behavior already.

Same issue here on KDE 4.13.2 (Arch Linux x86_64).

This issue is really annoying.

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!
