Description J Appel 2012-06-27 14:01:35 UTC
After trying to send an email per smtp, the server (strato) reported:

Failed to transport message. Unexpected server response to EHLO command. The server responded: "missing argument in EHLO command"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. compose email, sent over strato account
2.
3.
Actual Results:
server responds:

Failed to transport message. Unexpected server response to EHLO command. The server responded: "missing argument in EHLO command"

Expected Results:
sending the mail

thunderbird does not have any issues, until recently kmail didnt have any either. I tried different versions of security (none / tls / ssl), didnt help.

strangely when I select in the smtp settings dialogue "server requires authentication" each time I revisit the tab it is unchecked, while for my other (working) accounts this remains checked.

I deleted the smtp account and entered new settings anew without being successful in sending the mail, the error persists. Also the "server requires authentication" box gets unchecked again.

I ll be happy to investigate when instructed

bug gets triggered once in a while, I no longer care. Feel free to reopen if you think it's worth to keep the bug report.
