Which exact KDE version is this about? I've been on lots of distros and I can tell you with absolute concrete certainty that this bug effects KDE 4.6 onwards. It may also effect 4.5 but I have no live disk with it that I can pop in to test that. The good news is that this bug doesn't effect KDE 4.4.5. I pooped in a MEPIS live disk, tested it, all worked well. In conclusion this definitely effects versions 4.6 onwards and possibly 4.5. Which is not the answer I need: which is the newest KDE version this can be reproduced with? KDE version 4.8.* for certain. Possibly version 4.9 as well but I haven't tried 4.9 yet. As soon as I can find a way to test that whether by some live disk or enabling the rawhide repository I will let you know the results. The method for reproducing this bug are the same no matter what version of KDE you test it on. If it's there it will show like in KDE 4.6-4.8. If it's not there for example like on KDE 4.4.5 it will not show. I finally got a chance to try out KDE 4.9 via Chakra. In KDE 4.9 this is no longer an issue for the main menu so somehow you have inadvertantly fixed the problem. Strangely enough while this bug is resolved yet claims the similar one with the Windows Operations Menu that claims to be resolved is not but of course thats for another bug report. Thank you so much for the bug fix. |
