Description Robby Engelmann 2012-06-22 05:37:46 UTC
Since KDE 4.9 beta1 I have the problem, that I cannot shutdown the system via Kmenu->Leave->Shutdown or the Leave/Lockout Widget. After trying it is just doing nothing and I have to do a sudo shutdown now. It happens not everytime, the longer the system is running the smaller the chance for a proper shutdown. What I recognized: multiple ksmserver zombie processes seem to increase in number over time. I have no idea what the cause of that problem is. Perhaps somebody can help tracking down the problem?

I am currently using post beta2 packaged under Kubuntu.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Today I downgraded to Kubuntu/beta packages to rule out that it has something to do with post beta2 git packages.
This also results in >50 ksmserver zombie processes after notebook was running half a day.

ksmserver --version
Qt: 4.8.1
KDE Development Platform: 4.8.90 (4.8.90)
The KDE Session Manager: 0.4

Sorry for this late post:

I installed dockmanager scripts from KDE-look. These somehow caused this issue. After removing these scripts again, shutdown worked fine again

Hello,

I am facing this problem too since one the latest upgrade.
I use KDE 4.10.1 and I cannot shutdown as usual. I don't have dockmanager on my system.

I noticed that this happens when KDE is running since many hours and when I want to shutdown.

What is the problem?
