Thanks for reporting this issue, I can reproduce the problem with Okular from KDE 4.8 and poppler 0.18 but works fine with Okular from KDE 4.9 and poppler >= 0.20 so I am closing the bug as fixed. If you try with Okular from KDE 4.9 and poppler >= 0.20 and it still fails please reopen the bug. Kubuntu (KDE 4.8.5) and Okular 0.14.3 This version print without spaces.
