Hello, I do not understand the email rcd from Christof Feck Just in case he wants to know what changed to cause the crash My PClinuxOS Full monty sytem was working fine untill I did update. First I became aware that Kmail crashed if I tried to save Email address from a rcd email. I made a bug report to KDE. In order to put together a working adresssbook I decided to cut and paste adress links into the Addressbook direct. Adress book crashed immeditaely on every attempt to paste. Hoping that updates would bring a fix for the problem I have run daily updates 14,15,16 june 2012 problem remains. Regards Llewellyn Lee Hello, Problem is fixed by downloading and installing /shared-mime-info-0.90-1pclos2012.i586.rpm Regards Llewellyn Lee ok so we close it I am having the same problem. Also with PCLinuxOS. I see that I have shared-mime-info 1.0-pclos2012 installed. Is the fix here to install an earlier version? Who owns this file? shouldn't the fix be to update the file to correct the problem? OK, where do I go to get a copy of the earlier version? Should I be submitting this on a PCLinuxOS dub report? Richard You have to install /shared-mime-info-0.90-1pclos2012.i586.rpm Use google to search for a download of it There is a bug report covering the same thing on the PClinuxOS forum and instructions are given there for using a consol and command line to uninstall the shared mime you have now and install the 0.9 Do note that this stops the crash but you will still not have access to the address book. I am disgusted KDE team do not seem to give a damn about getting Kmail to work properly. |
