Description m.wege 2012-06-13 08:23:33 UTC
What I am missing in dolphins search is the possibility to see and open the folder in which a file was found. That because sometimes I actually was not really looking for the file itself, but rather the folder where I put it. At the moment the only way is to open the file, so the programm associated with it will show me where it is.

Reproducible: Always

With the default settings of Dolphin the folder of a found file is shown as column, you can open the folder by right clicking on the file and selecting "Open path in new tab" or "Open path in new window". Is that sufficient?

Thanks for the info. That helps at least partly. But it would be really usefull if the folder where the file is in could be directly accessed (via context-menu?).

Hm, I don't understand what you mean with "the folder where the file is in could be directly accessed (via context-menu?)" If you select "Open path in new tab" the folder can be "directly accessed" (?). Could you please give an example? Thanks!

There is an command "Open path" in Dolphin 17.12.3 which does exactly what the reporter requested. Closing, is now implemented.
