Which version of KDE is this about? i have KDE 4.8.3 Thank you for the feedback. I'm experiencing the same problem, with a panel on the top of the screen (without autohiding). When I connect an external monitor and change the resolution, the problem occurs after next login, placing the panel in the middle of the screen (well, not exactly in the middle, a little bit below). KDE 4.8.3, Gento GNU/Linux 3.4, nVidia propietary graphic driver. I use Kubuntu 12.04 and I currently have the same problem, if the panel is aligned at the top. The panel moves after every reboot in the middle of the screen. I use auto-hide, but even without auto-hide the problem occurs. Sorry for my bad english. System: KDE 4.8.2, Linux 3.2.0-24, Nvidia proprietary graphic driver (nvidia-current 295.49-updates) Hello! I have this bug on my Arch and sometime ago I had the same on Kubuntu. Also maybe it will be useful to know, that I have this bug only when I have skype or some it's dependences in my system. System: KDE 4.9.0, Linux 3.5, xf86-video-ati and KDE 4.6-4.7, Kubuntu 11.04, ATI proprietary driver. Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
