I'd like to use KDE in a setup with very young students. The student accounts don't have a password.
What I would like to accomplish is that students can log in by just clicking on their picture in the greeters list without the additional hurdle of pressing Enter to input the (empty) password.

This works fine in the GNOME display manager and even the Microsoft Windows pendant but I would like to have a pure Linux/KDE environment.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a test user.
2. Delete the password of the user (as root: passwd -d <user>)
3. Try logging in as this user with KDM with a single click on the greeters list.
Actual Results:
The user is not logged in but has to press Enter/Return to log in.

Expected Results:
Clicking on the passwordless users picture in the greeters list logs in the user.

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
