You could simply open an "xterm" window, and check if the mouse behaves odd there, too. If it does, the problem is not in KDE. Did you check the procedure in comment #1 to verify if it is indeed a KDE problem? I have checked it on multiple machines I have with 4.8.3. I still encounter the same issue. It's such that I've had to switch to XFCE for the time being. It, so far, has been just fine. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
