Bug 299622

I've found that after upgrading to KDE4.8.2 in two different distros (Fedora and Kubuntu) that the mouse sensitivity is off the charts.  A single-click acts like a double-click and selecting text with the mouse either selects everything or nothing.  This occurs with wireless and wired mice and with the touchpad on my Fedora netbook. Nothing on either system has changed except the update to 4.8.2.  I've used this hardware for over a year without trouble.  I see nothing in the logs about any errors.  

I've tried to change the sensitivity in the KDE settings, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot to KDE4.8.2
2. click right mouse button, sometimes you'll get a doubleclick, sometimes a single, seems random no matter how hard or soft, fast or slow I click the button
3.
Actual Results:  
I get either a single or a doubleclick depending on what the system decides I did.  Changing sensitivity seems to make no difference

Expected Results:  
I should get a single click on a single click and a double click on a double click.  I should be able to drag the mouse along text to highlight the text and not get either a 'select all' or nothing highlighted.

I'll offer any debugging you need.  This is an extremely irritating bug, it makes KDE on my system almost unusable.  Since downgrading packages is an iffy proposition, I've started thinking of changing WM until this is fixed.
