Description K. A. Sayeed 2012-05-05 04:51:21 UTC
1. An existing contact in the address book of the Contact application of KDE Kontact was copied and pasted into the same address book in order to edit it to create a similar contact.

2. A short while (about 5 seconds) after pasting, it disappears spontaneously.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy a contact from an address book in the Contacts application of KDE Kontact.
2. Paste it into the same address book.
3. Wait for about 5 seconds and observe the pasted contact.
Actual Results:
1. The copied contact disappears.

Expected Results:
1. The copied contact must remain permanently in the address book so that it can be used as a template and edited in order to create a different contact entry of similar content in the same address book.

1. The computer system uses Kubuntu 12.04.

2.This is a serious problem because it reduces the efficiency of the address book.

3. Previous versions of KDE Kontact did not have this problem.

4. Furthermore, in previous versions of KDE Kontact it ws possible to mail a contact without having to export it first (see version 4.3.2.). This feature seems to have also disappeared in the current version.

5. Also, in previous versions of KDE Kontact (see version 4.3.2), the contact form had an "Apply" button which was extremely useful in saving information without closing the form. This feature has disappeared from the current version.

6. In summary, the current KDE Kontact seems to have regressed in relation to previous versions instead progressing and becoming more stable and having richer functionality. This is very unfortunate.

I can't reproduce this behavior with current version. It sounds more like a setup issue of your resources.
