confirmed this behaviour with the name δαίμων.pdf in the most recent release (4.8.3). Dbgview output is: [6220] Debug:okular(6220)/kdecore (trader) KMimeTypeTrader::query: query for mimeType "application/pdf" , "okular/Generator" : returning 1 offers [6220] Debug:okular(6220) PDFGeneratorPopplerDebugFunction: [Poppler] "Error: Couldn't open file 'C:/Users/patrick/Downloads/da?µ??.pdf': Invalid argument." After a short investigation, it seems that the error is in poppler itself. I hope that we can fix this for the next release of KDE on Windows (4.8.3) in 1-2 Weeks. could you tell me which of the compilers you chose? The effect is a bit weird, but it seems I have an idea how to solve it. MSVC Any Progress? Thank you for the bug report.
