"Import begins, but goes awry after just over 1,000 email files, and finishes by failing to import over 3,000 files. " which is the error ? > which is the error ?
Aren't they both errors? The Import displayed at least two errors:
(1) When the 'imported' count reached 1006, then hesitated, went back to 1005, then back to 1006 - several times.
(2) Eventually - when the Import said it had finished - only 1027 emails had been imported, out of the correct total of over 4,800.
(All 4800+ emails were later successfully imported via the 'rsync' approach mentioned earlier.)
This indicates something is wrong with the Import logic in certain circumstances.
Another problem I have w.r.t. Import is that imported emails are put into 'KMail-Import' subfolders.
I don't want e.g. my Inbox emails split across 2 folders. (Subsequent Inbox emails in 'Inbox', and the imports in 'KMail-Imports'.)
Is there a way of combining the two sets into one folder?
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months. Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input. |
