User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.142 Safari/535.19
Build Identifier:

If I play some audio in amarok and attempt to adjust the volume level with amarok's integrated volume control nothing happens until the next item on the playlist *then* the volume level get's adjust. Clicking the same item to re-start playback also causes volume changes to be applied, as does skipping forward or backward with the arrow controls. I can adjust levels with kmix in realtime, just not with the integrated controls in amarok.

Pausing and resuming have no affect as to whether volume level changes are applied.

I've tried switch between the vlc and xine backends for phonon with no apparent difference in behavior.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add some audio file to your playlist
2. Play it
3. Try to adjust sound levels during playback with amarok's volume control
Actual Results:
Volume changes are not applied until the next playback item or playback is restarted.

Expected Results:
Volume levels will be adjusted in real time during playback.

This problem does not seem to affect JuK.

Which Phonon-backend do you use? If it is the gstreamer backend as I suspect you should try the phonon-backend-vlc instead.
