would it be possible to add Metalink/HTTP (RFC 6249) support to kget?

we may have Google Summer of Code students to work on a patch for this if you will accept it & provide guidance/where to start. this doesn't seem like a full summer project, so a time estimate would be useful :)

I'm working on it. So I guess, it'll be okay to change the bug from UNCONFIRMED. :)
