Sentry Crash Report:

Description George R. Goffe 2012-03-29 07:46:01 UTC
I was deleting tabs on one of 3 multi tab konsoles when they all disappeared and a drkonqi popup appeared. I went through the process which indicated that debug info needed to be installed. This process failed as well and popped up a konsole which showed the syntax for some command and then disappeared.

The initial crash has occurred twice in several months.

Unfortunately, without backtrace it is hard to know where thing goes wrong.

If you were "deleting tabs" by pressing Ctrl+D quickly and you are using ibus as your input method, then it is probabaly the same problem as bug 252602

Jekyll,

Thanks for your response.

Perhaps this bug belongs with the DrKonqi people? This was the second component in this failure chain.

George...

Not sure about the DrKonqi problem. I don't know whether DrKonqi itself has the feature of installing debugging symbols or that is a fedora thing.

For the Konsole crash, please read my comment #7 and #9 in bug 252602.

Did you "Delete tabs" in similar way? Do you use input method?

Jekyll,

I was successful at re-creating this bug AND DrKonqi was also successful and made it's bug report. All my konsoles died as well as multiple Firefox instances.

Here's the bug it appended to (I think). https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=252602

I did the multiple tabs and then held down ctrl-d. I did NOT hold the ctrl-d tab down when I initially made this report though.

My system is fairly close to current Fedora 16 x86_64

Where do we go from here?

Regards,

George...

Not much thing can be done at the moment. The crash seems highly related with ibus. I can't reproduce such crash at all when not using input method or using other input methods such as fcitx.
