Steps to Reproduce:
1.Right click on the plasma desktop
2.Go to add panel, default panel
3.Try to position the new panel
Actual Results:  
It crashed and the desktop restarted

Expected Results:  
allowed me to position and create my new panel

OpenSuSE v12.1 running KDE 4.7.2

Toshiba Satellite l300-07r

Intel Pentium Dual CPU
3.0 GB DDR2 RAM
320 GB SATA HDD 150 gb windows 150 gb opensuse

Please paste the backtrace here when it happens next time. 

Also please read bug 283061.  Your problem sounds like a duplicate of that report, which has been fixed since KDE SC 4.7.4

Hello! Plasma 4 was replaced by Plasma 5 four years ago by the KDE community. In that time we have made great strides in stability and functionality. We are closing all Plasma 4 bugs as most of them are no longer applicable to the new frameworks Plasma 5 is built upon. If you could, please re-test with the latest version of Plasma 5, and submit a new bug to "plasmashell" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
