Since 4.8.1 there is no view mode "Details" without openable folders. Thys mode is missing.

Thanks for the report. Did you upgrade from a KDE version <= 4.7.0 to 4.8.0 and now 4.8.1? In this case it might be that the old setting to disable the expandable folders is active. Could you please check whether adding the line
  ExpandableFolders=true
after the section "[DetailsMode]" in the file ~/.kde/share/config/dolphinrc solves the issue?

In Dolphin 2.1 (-> KDE 4.9) the user interface option will be available again but we could not backport it to 4.8.x as no new user interface strings may be introduced during a bugfix-release.

ExpandableFolders  ist missing in ~/.kde/share/config/dolphinrc. 

I adden it with the switch false... no impact at all.

I can't dolphin 2.0 stop opening folders in the main window.

Ah, ok: This is a duplicate of bug 289090 and you need to update to KDE 4.8.2 and then the line
   ExpandableFolders=false
will work (important: Dolphin must be closed when changing this line, otherwise Dolphin might overwrite the setting again).
