Description Kete 2012-03-10 22:00:49 UTC
Since I upgraded to KDE 4.8.1, e-mail messages haven't been showing up. Their subjects will show up, but their messages will be blank. I've had e-mails from a few different organizations. I've checked the e-mails for two different accounts on the servers, and their messages are blank, too. I'm using IMAP. I checked one account through a browser and the other account through SSH. I think KMail is somehow downloading the e-mail and deleting the messages both locally and on the remote servers while leaving the subjects and other headers in tact. It's similar to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=287097 but I can't see the messages even on the server. When I check the e-mail on the server, before downloading with KMail, I can see the messages, and when I download those messages with KMail, I can still see the messages. Otherwise, I can't see them, and clicking "Edit this Message" doesn't show anything like in the bug report above. Also, this is for all e-mail, not just HTML with JavaScript, etc.

I think this might be from trying to restore select config files from backup.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
