Sample mail with attachment (only text)
I'm using an IMAP account, the source of the sent mail doesn't really matter. The bug is still open in KDE 4.8.1 (on Kubuntu 11.10 with most recent KDE 4.8 backports) I can confirm this on openSUSE with 4.8.1. Kmail cannot open emails forwarded by itself. It does not matter whether the email is part of an imap account or moved to a local folder. To reproduce just forward an email as attachment with kmail to yourself, click on the "forwarded message" link in the received email and pick "open with kmail view". It will tel you that the file does not contain a message. If you use the email structure pane you can access the forwarded email. Hence the data is accessible, it's just kmail2 view failing to open it. (In reply to comment #4) > I can confirm this on openSUSE with 4.8.1. Kmail cannot open emails > forwarded by itself. > Actually it's not just mail forwarded by itself, which can't be opened, Kmail cannot open ANY mails forwarded to you by no mather who, apart from selecting it in the structure pane. Btw. still not working in 4.8.3 / Kubuntu 12.04. I can confirm it. Will look at soon. Still valid for KMail2 in 4.10.3. I even cannot access any attachment that was inside such a forwareded mail. The only thing I can do is "save all attachments", but that only allows me to save a msg.asc. Original description sounds the same as bug 281530 (fixed). Seems to be fixed in 4.13 If this has been fixed then there has been a regression afterwards. This problem occurs in 4.14.8 (and I have noticed it for quite some time but don't know the version when it started). |
