I'd like an option to enable a spellcheck in text entry boxes of an user-defined size. 

This would be massively useful for people that regularly submit large chunks of text via such methods. For example the bug report I'm typing right now kuroshin and slashdot type sites etc.

has this bug been forgotten? 
is it because it was imported from an old database and therefore had no votes? 
do votes actually matter?

Votes may matter, money does matter. So you may want to pay a developer do 
implement it.
