please attach the file and tell us what lines to remove to trigger the crash.

also: looks like a kate crash

It doesn't really matter what file to edit - any text removal operation triggers this.
Tried and upgrade to 4.8 - no problem.

Another update fixed this:
Qt: 4.8.0
KDE Development Platform: 4.7.4 (4.7.4) "release 5"

KDevelop 4.x is no longer maintained, since we lack manpower to also support outdated versions of the software. Please update to KDevelop 5.x - thanks!
