your smtp is ok ? is it online ? (see to akonadiconsole) In akonadiconsole I can not see any smtp, but in kmail settings there is an SMTP connection defined (I think it was migrated from kmail1 user files) sorry; "mail dispatcher agent" Yes it is! But actually I can only see it when I run akonadiconsole from a terminal. Otherwise it does not appear ín akonadi console and is grey when I want to add. With akonadictl I managed to gather the real error message: posting retrieval request for item 70024 there are 1 queues and 0 items in mine request for item 70024 still pending - waiting processing retrieval request for item 70024 parts: ("RFC822", "HEAD") of resource: "akonadi_maildir_resource_2" continuing request for item 70024 succeeded akonadi_maildispatcher_agent(7117): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Ismeretlen protokoll - „socks”. The SMTP server is working fine, with smtp-cli there are no errors at all! It sometimes turn OK, and is able to send messages. If I do a logout & login, and start kdeinit4 from a terminal window, everything turns right. Which configuration / setting is responsible for that? I would like to stabilize that since it is only a workaround now. I am having this same error on Fedora 17, fully updated, with KDEPIM 4.9.5. Additionally, KMail fails to start after rebooting saying "Failed to fetch the resource collection." for pretty much everything! This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months. Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input. I have just had this problem (or a problem resulting ostensibly in the same result) immediately following a fresh install of KDE Neon 5.8.8 and KMail 5.6.3. This seems to have been due to the fact that kio-smtp was not installed during the KMail installation and was solved by installing kio-smtp manually. |
