Sentry Crash Report:

Description Kurt Bennater 2012-01-30 09:37:44 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS: Linux

I miss a possibility to filter print jobs in KDE 4 (just as kprinter in KDE 3.5 offered them). I am aware of http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/kprinter?content=147887 which is hitherto only available for KDE 4.7 and still suffers from crashes (nevertheless, thanks to cyberbeat for the effort!). (E.g., it crashes if you click "Cancel".)

If you do a web search for "KDE4 kprinter", it seems that this is a sadly missed feature. It would be great if kprinter could be re-integrated into the main branch again and maintained with more effort.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
The properties dialog of a selected printer should offer a tab "filters" with the option to add, e.g., postscript conversion filters -- cf. KDE3 kprinter.

Also print-manager is not kprinter.
print-manager is pretty much the same of kprinter with easy to use in mind, but as I don't have time and developers doesn't print :P it's stuck for a while, the biggest problem is that the auto detection of printers has large efforts on the pycups stuff which is not easy to integrate with C/C++ code.
