I have a G-Cube wireless USB mouse installed that has been working fine. Did a normal upgrade to 3,0,0-15 generic and since then, no mouse is recognized.  This is a laptop (Toshiba Satellite L45-S7423) and the mousepad still works.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
turn on computer.

Actual Results:  
no mouse

Expected Results:  
mouse navigation

This sounds like a kernel issue. Is the mouse recognized with other desktop environments, such as Gnome or LXDE?

Haven't tried that.  ONly have Kubuntu installed.

Well this is embarrassing.   One of my mouse's batteries died overnight causing the blank look from KDE.  Replacing the defective battery fixed the problem.  Duh.
