Description Timothée Ravier 2012-01-06 09:40:43 UTC
Version: Git (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I'm using KDE 4.8 RC2 from the kde-unstable repository from Arch Linux.

I've just updated to RC2 and now the whole desktop is slow, doesn't respond to mouse events or respond with a 30 second latency.

Non-KDE applications works perfectly fine. KRunner also works fine. Qt applications (qtcreator) works fine until you try to use KDE features (places in open file dialog) and when it does, you got 5-10 second latency on almost every action.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I tried rebooting several times but nothing changed. It happens even before the desktop shows up as KDM seems affected too.

I'm trying to build KDE from source using kdesrc-build, but I haven't suceeded yet in doing so despite several attemps. I'll also try to downgrade to KDE 4.7.4 in order to be 100% sure it's KDE related.

My bad, I had a full /

Would be nice if KDE could display some info/warning for such problems.
