I find the commit which made the issue appear : http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kdelibs.git&a=commit&h=02b7eb5d92daae4373e7d38d2d952a688bd42079 Is it possible to by pass this behavior for a nfs filestem on a local network ? I can confirm this bug Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) Distribution: Kubuntu 12.04 beta1 64bits (also happen on Ubuntu 11.10). Desktop icons isn't showed, if you mount /home trough NFS. To Reproduce: Mount /home trough NFS4 share and login. KDE 4.8.1 (4:4.8.2-0ubuntu2) on Ubuntu 12.04 I can reproduce this on NFS and NTFS. BTW: The .directory files have icons on NFS shares but not on NTFS mounts. It should be configurable what a user considers to be a slow connection or it should be measured by download speed. IMHO NFS-via-GBIT-LAN and NTFS are fast enough to display folder icons! should be fixed together with bug 178678 in KDE SC 4.10.2. Reopen if not. |
