Version: 1.2.1 (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

After downloading and installing Kubuntu 11.10 x86_64 edition that utilizes KDE 4.7.1 using live CD, I tried to update using the installed version of Muon (1.2.1).

After multiple attempts, continue to recieve the following error message when updating my system:

Window title: "Unable to obtain package sy" (title cut off, cannot resize window to get full error message)

Message: "Another application seems to be using the package system at this time. You must close all other package managers before you will be able to install or remove any packages."
---
Now, Not only is Muon the only package manager I have installed so far (not even Synapatic or Ubuntu Software Center yet), but Muon is the only application I have open while doing this task.

I have been able to recreate this regardless of how many packages, catagory, and type of package. Even if I just try updating the linux kernel, and only the Linux Kernel, I recieve the same message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Open Muon Package Manager
2) Click "Check for Updates" Muon then displays an updated list of packages compared to what is installed and each package's version.
2) Click "Full Upgrade," or any combination of packages
3) Click "Apply Changes"
--Almost instantaneously, I recieve the error message

Actual Results:
Error message. only option available is to click "OK" and try again. No updates or packages are downloaded or installed.

Expected Results:
I would expect Muon to recognize that there is no present conflicting package managers open. I would only expect such an error message if two different managers accessing the same repositories (Like Synapatic Package Manager and Muon Package Manager being open at the same time). But no other such software is open. Even after looking in the system monitor to see if there were any ghost processes running, I had no luck in finding any conflicting package manager running,

-I disabled desktop widgets and many of the desktop/window behavior enhancements
-OS is as is from the downloadable ISO image provided by Kubuntu
-System info attached in screenshot below
