Description Arnd 2011-12-31 13:46:39 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

Current state:
1. The fastest way to view information for To-do items or event items is the Item Viewer side bar pane. The information is presented in a list with labeled fields, which does not have good visual guides to find the relevant field. For instance, when I want to read the Description, my eyes have to look for the label "Description" and then look to the right of that which is tiring.

2. Editing of this information is done in a modal dialog. So for every modification you have to do several mouse clicks to get to the point and finally leave the dialog.

Both these problems can be improved by integrating the functionality of the modal dialog, the incident editor, into the side bar pane. In this case, the side bar should probably be on the right side of the window.

Further major proposal:
With this in place the two modules To-do List and Notebooks can be integrated into one. Does this make sense? In my opinion yes. The concept to distinguish between information with a time relation and information without is artificial. For example: during my work on a To-do item, I often write notes into the item, which I want to keep for reference after the To-do item is finished. At that time this information has changed its type from a To-do description to a Note.

The To-do List now lets the user edit most fields directly in the list.
