After using the "assistant" to set up a Gmail account kmail keeps crashing with:

KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:
Failed to fetch the resource collection.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Set up a Gmail account with the "Account Assistant"

Actual Results:  
Kmail crashes

Expected Results:  
Kmail should not crash

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-14-generic
Compiler: gcc

This bug is now fixed. Look at release KDE 4.9 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124111
