since i can not explain it much more than that what i have in the title i will add a video - hope this is ok :s

Computer:
Radeon X1400 Mobile with Radeon/ATI (opensource) driver as well as Radeon 1600 on the desktop.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start compositing and drag a window to the edge

Actual Results:  
the effect will be drawn as much as possible ^^

Expected Results:  
should only be one time

its the same with 4.8 Beta

- Does it happen when you switch to the XRender backend?
- Do you have blurring enabled? Is it related? (both in "kcmshell4 kwincompositing")

No. with xrandr it is normal behavior.
kwin+gles is the same like kwin

With and without blurring the same issue
