Version: 1.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

It would be very helpful if the icons in "Places" panel could be made fixed size or at least configurable so users can enable/disable auto sizing. Or make it configurable via a slider bar like the ones used to control the size of icons in the other view panels where directories/files are listed. The way it is now is a distraction and annoying but without any benefits or merits.

I can't see any benefits or merits for the Placess to be auto sizing, or am I missing something?
The same is applicable to the view when save/save as are launched.

Your attentions to this request is very much appreciated and I am speaking for multiple people who find this feature in needs of a reasonable fix.

Thanks

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
It is a feature which annoys many users and it doesn't seem to have any benefits or merits

Expected Results:
make auto sizing of "Places" icons to be an optional setting.

the Auto sizing of icons in "Places" Panel to be a user option.
