"pacmd list-sources" output
"aplay -L" output. |

I was going to open a separate bug report, but after reading this one, I believe that my problem is related to the error described here. Apologies in advance if it's not the case. I own an Asus EeePC 1015 PN (ION 2 platform) that, apart of an analogue sound output, has a digital HDMI output. I've Kubuntu 12.04 installed in it, but it also happened in Kubuntu 11.10. "alsamixer" lists 4 different connectors for the HDMI output, but only one corresponds to the physical one of my computer. The PulseAudio configuration GUI "pavumeter" also reports 4 connectors. However, the Phonon configuration panel only lists 2 of them, being none of them the one which I need to use. This makes impossible for any non-advanced user to get sound through the HDMI connector. When I've read this bug report, I've checked the output of "pacmd list-sources", as it's stated below, and it seems that two sources share the same priority. They're the analogue and HDMI sources, which share the priority 1050. May it be the cause in my case too? If not, I will open a separate bug report. Created attachment 71215 [details]
"pacmd list-sources" output
Here the analogue and digital source seem to share the same priority too (1050).

"aplay -L" output.
This is just to check that in my case there are 4 HDMI digital outputs, in spite of the fact that the Phonon hardware settings tab only shows 2 of them.
Setting status to confirmed. Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved. Kmix is not installed by default on Fedora-33 anymore. Anyway - after 10 years, this report is obsolete. I would mark it RESOLVED, but there is no OBSOLETE resolution. |
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.3) OS: Linux "pacmd list-sources" shows: ports: analog-input-microphone;input-microphone-1: Analog Microphone / Microphone 1 (priority 10020) analog-input-microphone;input-microphone-2: Analog Microphone / Microphone 2 (priority 10019) analog-input-linein: Analog Line-In (priority 9000) analog-input: Analog Input (priority 9000) analog-input-video: Analog Video (priority 7000) active port: <analog-input-microphone;input-microphone-1> However, "Analog Line-In" is NOT shown in the Connector drop-down menu of Phonon device setup. Effectively, the connector can NOT be selected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Check "pacmd list-sources" if there are entries with the same priority. 3. Start Phonon setup (settings -> Audio Setup) from KMix. 4. Go to Audio Hardware Setup. 2. Notice missing connectors of appropriate Sound Card/Sound Device. Actual Results: Missing connectors in drop-down menu. Expected Results: Connectors should be shown. The connector can be selected without problems with alsamixer.
