Version: 4.7 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

After login screen, kde splash appears, crash, then xserver reloads itself so login screen appears.

Here is the output of .xsession-errors file:

/etc/X11/xim: Checking whether an input method should be started.
sourcing /etc/sysconfig/language to get the value of INPUT_METHOD
INPUT_METHOD is not set or empty (no user selected input method).

There is no default input method for the current locale.
Dummy input method "none" (do not use any fancy input method by default)

startkde: Done.

I managed to downgrade to kde shipped with OpenSUSE 11.4 but effect is the same.
Latest kde (loaded from 'unstable' repo) also reports the same issue/

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Each time I try to start kde session problem appears.

Actual Results:
crash

Expected Results:
normal kde session

Does the crash also happen when you create a fresh user account and login there?
Comment 2 Przemek 2011-12-08 11:11:52 UTC
Yes, also with root account.
Comment 3 Jekyll Wu 2012-07-10 11:38:49 UTC
Is this sitll a problem ?
Comment 4 Jekyll Wu 2013-10-07 07:48:22 UTC
No response, close it. Anyway, that looks like a downstream upgrading issue.
