Description Romain 2011-11-22 11:58:19 UTC
Version: 2.4.3 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

Most music players I know use the "previous track" button to jump to the beginning of the *current* track and only jump to the previous track if the button is clicked again.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. play a track, wait some time until it's well into the track (10 seconds ?)
2. press "previous track" or ctrl-z shortcut

Actual Results:
Amarok moves to the previous track in the playlist

Expected Results:
Unless in the first 3 (?) seconds of the track, Amarok should jump only to the beginning of the current track, not the previous track in the playlist.

This is not a bug but intended behavior. If you want to go to the beginning of the track just double click it or use the progress slider.

1. This is extremely weird and does not conform to other players
2. How about keyboard shortcuts ?

Please do not reopen this, it is NOT a bug, Amarok absolutely doesn't have any obligation to do like other players. This is a developers decisions.

Seriously, players who jump to the start of the current track when you explicitly ask for the precious one would drive me nuts. This is a developers decisions

It is your right. However breaking behavior with all known portable music players *and* the most widely used music player (iTunes) seems ... unwise. Even my old hi-fi CD player had this behavior ! So does Winamp and pretty much anything the "common user" (you know, the 99% of the population using Windows and MacOs ?) is accustomed to.

Furthermore, if I may ask again (only for the third time), what about keyboard shortcuts ?

Well, anyway, no need to worry about me, I'm not an Amarok user anymore. So long !
