I've setup a disconnected IMAP account (same happens for a usual IMAP account). When creating the account, I specified a password. Then I checked out the messages, everything was fine, until I restarted the machine. Then, I started KMail again to check my mail. KMail launched, but did not perform a mail check. When I opened the Accounts page in KMail Settings, a message box popped out, saying "You can do without KWallet, but KMail will ask you for the password every time". The entry for the account said "could not read the password: user rejected wallet access".

Now there was no password prompt. The password filed was greyed out so I couldn't enter the password by hand. I started KWallet by hand but to no avail.

In the end, I had to recreate the account in KMail from scratch. It worked exactly until the first restart of the machine.

I think that I should not have to recreate the account every time to check my mail, don't you think?

Forgot to add that in KWallet, there is a folder called "imap(0)", and it is empty. It has 4 sub-folders or entries, I don't know xactly what they are, but none of them contains any data.

OK, with KMail 4.11.4 (and a few earlier versions) this is not an issue any more. The password propmt works fine with KWallet disabled. Therefore "worksforme".
